At Skip Moving Ltd., your peace of mind matters. That’s why every move we handle comes with a basic level of insurance at no extra cost. For customers who want stronger protection, we also offer optional coverage upgrades.

⚠️ Please note: Insurance is intended to protect against accidental damage or loss. Claims must be legitimate, documented, and supported with proof of value. Fraudulent claims will not be honored and may be subject to investigation.

Insurance Options

Basic Value Protection (Included Free)

Cost: $0 (included in every move)
Coverage: $0.60 per pound, per article
Example: A 50 lb dresser is covered up to $30.
This is the minimum protection required by BC law.

Replacement Value Protection (with Deductible)

Cost: $1 per $100 of declared value
Coverage: Damaged or lost items are repaired or replaced at today’s value, minus a $300 deductible.
Example: A $1,000 sofa would be covered for $700.

Full Replacement Value Protection (Best Coverage)

Cost: $1.30 per $100 of declared value (higher than average rates — set to protect against fraudulent claims)
Coverage: Damaged or lost items are repaired or replaced at today’s full value, with no deductible.
Example: A $1,000 sofa would be covered for the full $1,000.

Electronics (TVs, computers, sound systems, etc.)
Jewelry, watches, or precious stones
Antiques, fine art, or collectibles
Items of extraordinary value (cash, documents, heirlooms, securities)

Fraud Prevention Disclaimer

Insurance claims are carefully reviewed. To deter fraudulent claims, Skip Moving Ltd.:

Requires proof of value (receipts, appraisals, or comparable documentation).
May request inspection of damaged items before compensation.
Reserves the right to deny claims found to be fraudulent or unsupported.
